Sensation Amadou Onana’s header denies Crystal Palace and salvages point for Everton just in …

Oliver Glasner’s first impression of Roy Hodgson’s former team at Goodison Park will have encouraged him despite the regrettable manner of his appointment as Crystal Palace manager. Against a declining Everton, who need all the support they can get from their appeal against a 10-point deduction to avoid another relegation nightmare, Palace deserved at least a point.

Sean Dyche thought the arrival of the new Palace manager gave the visitors a boost. They took the lead thanks to a fantastic shot from Jordan Ayew and looked set to win at Goodison for the first time in nearly a decade, but Everton was saved late on by replacement Amadou Onana. Another issue was the manager’s attempt to build it up. When questioned if this was a lost chance, Dyche responded, “Oh no.” “That’s an additional point on the board. We also recently emerged from the relegation zone. We are currently awaiting the 10 points [verdict], but nothing has been announced as of yet.
