Although he hasn’t been able to maintain success as a playcaller, he has much experience mentoring quarterbacks. The coach of the quarterback will be crucial because the Raiders may select a young quarterback early in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Scangarello is a sensible choice for the Raiders because he has expertise working with quarterbacks in both college and the NFL. However, nothing seems to be finalized just yet, so it’s possible that both parties decide to take a different course.

Notably, Rich Scangarello has long been a member of the QB Collective, an association of active and retired coaches that aids in the development of young athletes. According to a January 15 X post from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, former USC quarterback Caleb Williams is projected to be the first choice in the 2024 NFL Draft and has been working with Scangarello specifically during the pre-draft process.

Williams is likely excited to work with Scangarello after he is drafted since he has enough faith in him to help him prepare for the NFL. The Heisman Trophy winner is nearly certain to go much higher than that if the Raiders choose at No. 13 in the 2024 NFL Draft.
