Top 10 Moments from the Former Raiders Career with Oakland/Las Vegas…

Last March, the New York Giants traded for Darren Waller, a former Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders tight end. Waller had been on a roll with the Raiders prior to being traded, but injuries began to slow him down.

Waller has missed 19 games over the last three seasons, and as a result, he is considering retiring. Waller concluded the 2023 season with 52 receptions for 552 yards and one touchdown in 12 games.

In Week 8, Waller worsened his lingering hamstring ailment, landing him on injured reserve. The same hamstring ailment arose in the 2022 season, resulting in an injured reserve stint.

The same injury can often have a significant mental impact on a player, prompting Waller to consider retiring from the game. Waller spoke with Vic Tafur of The Athletic about the likelihood of leaving the Giants and football.

“I have to make a decision at some point,” Waller explained. “You have to be 100 percent committed to the grind. And I need to make sure I’m bringing it to the table or I’ll be doing a disservice to the guys I’m teaming up with. I also want to give the squad time, so that whichever path I take, they can prepare for the upcoming season… It’s a difficult decision, but we’re here.”
