Miami’s New Quarterback Doing Well With The Bright Lights Of South Florida……

Growing up in a tiny village, moving away as a young adult, and then succeeding in a large city has never been simple.

In those circumstances, some people thrived while others withered. Here are two examples of previous Canes who, despite growing up in a tiny town, seized the chance to become great, and a recent addition to the Miami football family who has begun to do the same.

A number of the Miami Hurricanes football team’s standout recruits were from smaller communities. Legendary defensive tackle Jerome Brown, who attended The U from Brooksville, Florida, Hernando, would be one of them. Brown’s four years in Coral Gables were marked by 21 sacks and 19 tackles for loss, which were major factors in the Philadelphia Eagles selecting him ninth overall in the 1987 NFL Draft.

Brown’s captivating demeanor made him a beloved NFL figure. Maybe the Canes gained another player through the Transfer Portal who can be a fan favorite off the field and a dominant player on the field. Before even playing a game inside Hard Rock Stadium, quarterback Cam Ward, who came to Miami from Washington State, seems to have already thrived amid the city’s bright lights.

In a video interview with WPLG Sports, Ward said, “I was given a chance by Coach Mario Cristobal.” Coming to the large metropolis as a young person from a little town, I’m attempting to establish myself.
