In a heartwarming act of generosity and community spirit, Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokić has announced a personal investment of $7.5 million to convert a historic mansion in downtown Denver into a shelter for homeless youth.
Jokić, widely recognized not only for his extraordinary talent on the basketball court but also for his humility and compassion, unveiled the project during a press conference held earlier today. The initiative, named “Jokić House,” will provide transitional housing, counseling, education services, and job training to young people experiencing homelessness in the Denver metro area.
“Basketball has given me so much, and it’s time to give back in a way that truly matters,” said Jokić. “Every young person deserves a chance — a place to feel safe, supported, and believed in. This is about more than shelter; it’s about hope.”
The renovated facility, formerly a privately-owned estate dating back to the 1920s, will accommodate up to 50 residents at a time and include communal living spaces, a recreation center, classrooms, and a wellness wing. Construction is already underway, with doors expected to open by Spring 2026.
Local officials and nonprofit leaders have praised the initiative, calling it a “game-changer” for youth services in the city.
