Former 5-star prospect player Williams Nwaneri Commits to Nebraska Over South Carolina Louisville and Tennessee Vols in Major Recruiting Win Gives Shocking Major Reason why…

Williams Nwaneri, a former five-star defensive lineman from Lee’s Summit North High School in Missouri, has officially committed to the University of Nebraska. The 6-foot-7, 255-pound edge rusher made the move from Missouri, where he redshirted during the 2024 season, to the Cornhuskers, marking a significant addition to Nebraska’s defensive line.

Nwaneri was a consensus five-star recruit in the 2024 class and was regarded as one of the top edge rushers in the country. In high school, he recorded 149 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, and 23 sacks, earning first-team all-state honors twice and selection as a 2024 Under Armour High School All-American.

His decision to transfer to Nebraska is influenced by several factors. Notably, former Lee’s Summit North head coach Jamar Mozee, who mentored Nwaneri in high school, is now on Nebraska’s coaching staff. Additionally, Nebraska’s defensive line has experienced significant turnover, providing Nwaneri with an opportunity for substantial playing time. The program’s strong NIL support also played a role in his decision.

Nwaneri’s commitment is a significant boost for Nebraska’s defense as they continue to build under head coach Matt Rhule. With four years of eligibility remaining, Nwaneri is expected to make an immediate impact on the field.
