Buffalo Bills Sign Controversial Star Wide Receiver from the Pittsburgh Steelers to Assist Josh Allen in 2024

When the Buffalo Bills moved Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans this summer, many fans believed that the diva wide receiver era was ended. However, the squad recently acquired a wide receiver who has an intriguing past after being acquired by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After losing out on Diggs in the trade and allowing Davis to sign a free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Bills were shorthanded at wide receiver. They selected Keon Coleman with the 33rd overall choice in order to provide quarterback Josh Allen with a target for the next campaign.

Large-framed wide receiver Claypool, who is 6-4 and 238 pounds, has over 2,000 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns since joining the team. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Claypool in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and his four touchdowns in Week 5 established a team record.

Claypool has played for the Dolphins (2023), Bears (2022–23), and Steelers (2020–2022) during his career.

During the 2022 season, Claypool was seen as a rising talent in the league and was traded by the Steelers to the Bears for a second-round selection in 2023. But in the 10 games he played there, he was unable to find much success in Chicago, managing only 118 catches for 191 yards and one score.

A few days after Claypool said the Bears had not placed him in a position to be successful in their offense last season, the Bears advised him to remain home for the game. In the end, Claypool was traded by the Bears for pennies to the Miami Dolphins. In nine Dolphins games, Claypool would collect four receptions for 26 yards.
