Minnesota Vikings LB Jihad Ward Terminate new Contract after Argument with Management

The NFL Draft is still over a month away, and the Minnesota Vikings have had an exciting summer to say the least. However, Kwesi and company appear to be baffled by one incomplete signing and their apparent miscalculation of the circumstances.

The Vikings had a strong interest in Christian Wilkins, the finest interior defensive lineman expected to become available in free agency. Wilkins was picked by Miami during Brian Flores’ head coaching tenure.

It turns out that those rumors were accurate to the letter. Not only was Minnesota’s interest in the DT legitimate, but the Vikings believed they had the best offer prepared for Wilkins when free agency opened, according to Darren “Doogie” Wolfson (KSTP, SKOR North) on Tuesday’s Mackey & Judd Scoops episode. However, the Raiders from Las Vegas got involved and made an unexpected offer for the d-lineman that shocked everyone, including the Vikings.

Brian Flores and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah have collaborated to cover as many defensive voids as feasible. and there were many of them. The Vikings have some hope on that side of the ball, though, with to additions to their front seven and Harrison Smith’s return.
