Breaking news: Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that he is leaving his position as offensive coordinator with the Rams to resume….

Rams Hiring Dave Ragone As Quarterbacks Coach

Head coach Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams had to rearrange his staff, like he does virtually every year, because some of his coaches were lured away by other clubs. They recently hired Dave Ragone, a coach who is moving to Los Angeles to work with McVay, albeit he is taking a slight step down in status.

Ragone played five years in the NFL after being selected in the third round. He worked as a coach with the Tennessee Titans for three years, the Chicago Bears for five, and the Atlanta Falcons for the final three years. He went from coaching wide receivers to coaching quarterbacks before getting the major promotion to offensive coordinator with the Falcons.

The Falcons’ offensive performance fluctuated over Ragone’s tenure. The Falcons ranked No. 27 in offensive defense-adjusted value over average (DVOA) during his first season as offensive coordinator. But in his second season, he rose all the way to No. 8, and in his third season, he fell back to No. 24.

Naturally, the Falcons’ quarterbacking inconsistency throughout it all would have prevented any offensive coordinator from succeeding. Over the past three seasons, no quarterback in Atlanta has been as good as Matthew Stafford.

Additionally, McVay will have more intelligent minds under him if he appoints someone with experience as an offensive coordinator to oversee the quarterback room. The Rams touchdown

Seahawks pass game coordinator Jake Peetz, of the Rams, was hired.
After a surprising 2023 season that saw Los Angeles clinch a postseason spot when many thought they may compete for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, the Rams coaching staff has been snatched at an alarming rate this offseason. This offseason, Jake Peetz, a longtime pass game specialist, is the latest Rams coach to find a new position.

In 2023, he was elevated to the position of pass game specialist after being hired as an offensive assistant coach. After spending one season in Los Angeles as a pass game specialist, he settles in with the Seattle Seahawks and their new coaching staff.
