Chad Johnson Says Steelers Signing Russell Wilson

Pittsburgh The Pittsburgh Steelers are searching for a quarterback, which has sparked conjecture about every single passer available. However, a former wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals claims that their next starter is already confirmed.

Former Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson revealed on the Nightcap podcast that he has received word from “a little birdie” that Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson will be signing a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason.

Now we have to focus on the Steelers,” Johnson stated. “A little birdie told me, and I said this many shows ago, Russell Wilson’s coming on over to the Steelers.”

Wilson is anticipated to be dismissed before free agency even though he still has a contract with the Broncos. Denver is reportedly willing to take on a $86 million dead cap in order to move on, but Russell will receive $30 million in signing bonuses.

Even though the Steelers are adamant that Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett are their best alternatives this offseason, Pittsburgh’s next great quarterback continues to be named by many. In addition to Wilson, the Steelers have identified Jimmy Garoppolo, Kirk Cousins, Justin Fields, and most recently, Wilson as possible fits.

Wilson, 35, has an NFL career record of 115-72-1 as a starter. Before being benched late in the season due to injury guarantees, he had a 7-8 record with the Broncos the previous season.
