The Australian MotoGP race winner is gearing up for his maiden season with Honda as part of the satellite LCR team, having switched from Pramac Ducati during the winter.
Zarco got the opportunity to ride the previous RC213V package at last year’s Valencia test before proceeding to this year’s model, which he says is substantially different from its predecessor.
After sampling both bikes and expressing satisfaction with the possibilities of his new machine, Zarco said that it offers him a greater understanding for the performance of former Honda rider Marquez on the tough prior RC213V.
Yes, the 2024 Honda is more competitive in my opinion, which is fantastic because the old bike would have been quite complicated.
“I’m really pleased with what Marc did with the old bike; he was usually in the front, even if he crashed or couldn’t finish every race.
“He was always fast, which I believe was impossible for me on the old bike. I’m happy to have this new bike.”
