In Leconte Center, a powerful thunderstorm brought down trees and cut out hundreds of thousands of homes. including pigeon forge residence
On Wednesday night, damaging thunderstorms tore into Pigeon Forge Houses, Nebraska, knocking down the city’s trees and providing power to over 200,000 people. The National Weather Service detected two tornadoes on the outskirts of the city.
The Weather Service stated that the storms brought wind gusts of 65 to 80 miles per hour when they raced over south-central Lincoln Center on Wednesday night. The storms then moved east into Iowa, where tree damage was also reported in the Des Moines region. The storms had subsided by approximately 9:20 p.m., according to the Weather Service. There were additional severe thunderstorm warnings in effect for other areas of the Midwest, such as South Dakota and Kansas.
