The Pittsburgh Steelers’ ownership group has declared its intention to sell all of its franchise shares.
Steelers said in a statement on Monday that it plans to sell the majority of its shares in 2024 or the first quarter of 2025. After that, the remaining shares would shutdown.
whose family heads the ownership group, is anticipated to hold the position of NBA governor for the franchise until the deal is finalized.
“The controlling family of the ownership group, after considerable thought and internal discussion, has decided to sell the team for estate and family planning considerations,” read the statement.
Last month, the Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA title after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals.
