Reese recorded the most consecutive double-doubles in WNBA history on Sunday, with her put-back layup in the third quarter of the Chicago Sky’s 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm, giving her 11 points and 11 rebounds. Candace Parker’s previous record of twelve came from the seasons of 2009 and 2010. Reese had 17 points and 14 rebounds at the end of the game.
This season, the Chicago Sky’s No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 draft has shown remarkable consistency. In 14 of her first 20 professional games, she earned a double-double, and at 11.7 boards per game, she led the league in rebounds. After Caitlin Clark, she is the second rookie with 13.9 points per game.
The 22-year-old basketball players will play together for the first time in Phoenix in just over a week. The rookies, who were left off of the Olympic roster this year, will play against Team USA as members of this year’s All-Star Team, which is chosen in part by WNBA viewers. With 700,733 votes, Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever received the most votes from fans of any player; nevertheless, Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky received 381,518 votes.
