Angel Reese, a rookie for the Chicago Sky, achieved WNBA history on Sunday by recording a double-double in ten straight games in a single season, as her team defeated the Minnesota Lynx 70-62.
Reese hit two free throws with 23 seconds remaining in the game to accomplish the milestone after grabbing 16 rebounds and needed two more points to record double-figures in both numbers once more.
Candace Parker, a former Sky player and two-time WNBA MVP, had the previous mark of nine games, which she broke. On June 20, in Chicago’s victory over the Dallas Wings, Reese made history by becoming the first rookie to record a double-double in seven consecutive games.
