The 2023 season was tumultuous for Alabama. After hosting their first regional since 2006, the Crimson Tide’s season was marred by a gambling controversy that resulted in Brad Bohannon’s resignation. Jason Jackson served as the team’s interim coach and led them to the Tuscaloosa Regional before Vaughn was selected as the new head coach in June 2023. Jackson continued to serve as the team’s associate head coach and pitching coach.

Alabama had to swap out its head coach and the majority of its starting lineup from the 2023 squad. Alabama won 13 games despite having a head coach in his first season and a lot of team upheaval.

In the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Alabama baseball, led by first-year coach Rob Vaughn, will play in the Tallahassee Regional.
