San Francisco 49ers Inked A Mind Blowing Deal Of $250 Million With Terrell Qwen’s Son Terique…

Athleticism and adaptability are two frequent characteristics of the 49ers’ 2024 NFL Draft class. That’s by design.

San Francisco’s roster is one of the most complete in the league, giving little opportunity for rookies to establish consistent roles right away.

This is why the 49ers respect adaptability.

In interviews with reporters following the NFL draft, general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan were asked about Florida State cornerback Renardo Green, whom San Francisco selected with the 64th pick in the second round, and whether he could be a candidate for the starting nickel corner.

“Yeah, I mean we think [CB] Renardo [Green] is a guy who has that kind of versatility to play inside and outside, [CB] Chase Lucas, one of the free agents we brought in has played nickel, so we have some candidates in there,” Lynch said in an interview. “[Deommodore Lenoir] provides us with excellent flexibility. He can do both.

“We believe Renardo has that versatility as well. We will see. It’s good to have that versatility because it allows you to play about. That is up to Kyle and them; they may start out whatever they choose. But having the ability to do either or allows you to simply locate the ideal matchups.

Last season, the 49ers lacked consistency at the nickel corner position, with Lenoir and Isiah Oliver sharing the majority of snaps while Samuel Womack III, Darrell Luter Jr., and Jason Verrett also saw action. While Green could be a good fit, the 49ers aren’t going to rush things and will let the competition play out.
