Complete deal: Rangers will be busy in the transfer market this summer with Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen as an overhaul is still needed.

Rangers will be busy in the transfer market this summer with Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen as an overhaul is still needed.

The manager of the Gers and his head of recruiting will have plenty of room to work with when it comes to the pay bill, even if as many as ten players might depart and six senior players are also out of contract.

The process of scouting and recruiting never ends, and it seems that Nils Koppen is already working hard to assemble a stronger and more cohesive Rangers team.

A few stories concerning players who the Light Blues are keeping an eye on have already surfaced.

Two of them are the Colombian winger Jhon Arias, who is presently at Fluminense, and Luca Langoni.

There were two forwards at major South American teams that would improve the attacking line right away, but they would also be quite expensive.

Left-back Jefte of APOEL appears to be destined for a “Will he? Won’t he?” narrative, with Borna Barisic’s replacement most likely to take precedence.

With an estimated price tag of £13 million, Eduard Spertsyan is definitely a player we should keep an eye on, but at that cost, we could just lose out.

Speaking at the usual Rangers Fans’ Forum at New Edmiston House, director of football operations Creag Robertson gave an update on the summer transfer plans. The Four Lads Had a Dream blog broke down the topics that were discussed.

“Recruitment is at the forefront of our plans, with Nils Koppen putting in a lot of effort and being very active in the market right now.” For us, player contracts, player recruiting, and succession planning are essential.

“Nils made changes to the recruitment’s structure and setup, and it’s working out great.
