Kevin Ford will be one of the select 2026 prospects to compete in the 2025 Polynesian Bowl. The off-season game hosted in Hawaii is following the lead of others by allowing underclassmen to compete. The Duncanville (Texas) defensive lineman is one of the country’s top juniors and received an invitation this week.

According to 247Sports, Ford is the No. 5 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 1 overall recruit in Texas. He is 6-foot-3 and weighs 225 pounds. Ford debuted at a Dallas-area power program with Texas pledges Alex January and Colin Simmons, but he made his own mark on the field on his way to a state championship.

“It means a lot just to be involved with many great players and going with some of my teammates also,” Ford said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to seeing Hawaii again, as well as the game’s tradition and everything else that goes on. It is fantastic to know that my hard work has paid off in some small way by being nominated for a big bowl game like this.

Ford is popular among recruiters. He presently has 15 offers, with a few notable programs sticking out during his recruitment.

“Really every school is standing out, but I’ll probably get up to Oklahoma or Miami soon,” he told me. “I’m going to be at the Oklahoma spring game and then to Miami next week.”

Oklahoma is one of the colleges leading the way in his recruitment. Ford stated that he has a solid relationship with the Oklahoma staff and is excited to return to Norman for the spring game.

“I just like the coaches and how they are so genuine,” that’s what he said. “Everybody talks to you and everybody seems personable on and off the field.”
