Breaking News:Miami Dolphins WR Braxton Berrios is officially re-signed.

The Miami Dolphins officially confirmed the re-signing of wide receiver Braxton Berrios on Thursday afternoon. This comes five days after Miami and Berrios announced a one-year pact.

The Dolphins need some offensive weapons. While the team’s free agent signing process has been very successful, re-signing Berrios was a wise and major decision.

Berrios is entering his sixth NFL season, the second with the Dolphins. He previously played for the New England Patriots (2018) and the New York Jets (2019-2022) before joining Miami. Last season, the wide receiver appeared in 16 games, starting one, and recorded 27 receptions for 238 yards and one score, ranking third among Dolphins receivers.

Berrios has played in 81 games, six of which he started, and has 134 receptions for 1,323 yards and six touchdowns.

Berrios was also a competent kick returner, averaging 10.2 yards on punt returns and 24.5 yards on kickoff returns. His biggest punt return was 19 yards, and his longest kickoff was 33 yards.

The Dolphins’ main objective should be to search the market for further offensive production. Adding another wide receiver behind Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill may not be a bad idea. While Braxton Berrios could carve out his own role on offense, he’ll most likely spend more time on special teams.

There are a few positions worth discussing, and fortunately, there are still several strong free agents available for Miami to pursue. Going through a roster shift, like this squad has, not only allows them to explore new alternatives, but also to determine who will work best with who in regular season play.

Berrios becomes the seventh Miami free agent to re-sign. This comes after the re-signing of CB Nik Needham, RB Salvon Ahmed, P Jake Bailey, DT Da’Shawn Hand, OL Isaiah Wynn, and restricted free agents Elijah Campbell and Robert Jones.
