Report : Cardinals GM Makes dark deal with Vikings for QB Hungry Teams: ‘We’re Open, Make an Offer’

The Minnesota Vikings are widely considered to be looking for a trade partner to move into the top five picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. While some teams, such as the New England Patriots, play hard to get, others, like the Arizona Cardinals, want all of the action and aren’t hesitant to show it.

Cardinals General Manager ready for offers to roll in on the No. 4 pick
Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort joked (maybe?) that he was going to hang a neon ‘Open’ sign so rival decision makers knew who to call if they needed to trade up for the Cardinals’ current No. 4 choice.

This update has significant weight for the Vikings, especially given their search for a franchise quarterback. At this time, it appears that general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will pursue Minnesota’s next franchise quarterback. The question is more about which team will be their trading partner.

If the Patriots are unwilling to trade at No. 3 and the Commanders choose to remain at No. 2, it is evident that the Cardinals will want to make a deal, as long as the price is appropriate. Many were unsure how willing a trade partner Arizona would be at No. 4, considering that they appear to be a wonderful fit for Marvin Harrison Jr., who many believe is the most skilled player in this draft. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The aforementioned Harrison Jr. is currently the favorite (-200) to be chosen at No. 4. That line, however, may begin to change quickly if their general manager continues to speak like this. Because he does not appear to be a GM who is determined to draft Harrison Jr.

Rumors claim that Drake Maye is the Vikings’ prime target, and there is little indication that he will be available that far down, considering that the top three teams are all in need of quarterbacks. There have been numerous reports linking Minnesota to JJ McCarthy, with whom the Vikings have arranged a private workout next week.

If the Michigan product is their primary target, he should be available at No. 4, as long as other clubs do not outbid the Cardinals. However, if their person is in the top three, closing a deal will be far more difficult.
