Breaking : Tiger Woods’ son Charlie had a wild interaction with overzealous fans on the golf course

Tiger Woods passed down more than just his name to his son Charlie; the teen also acquired his father’s golf skills. Woods, an 82-time PGA Tour winner, spent two years learning how to be a protective girl dad when his daughter Sam was born in 2007, before becoming a boy dad when Charlie joined the family in 2009. While both children have walked the fairway to encourage their father, Charlie is the one who has directly followed in his father’s footsteps by employing his swinging abilities on competition greens.

In 2020, the two Woods brothers teamed together to compete in the PNC Championship, an annual event in which pro golfers team up with their children for a shot at a trophy. Since then, the couple has competed annually, finishing second in 2021.”It is an amazing gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie and we genuinely do look forward to playing in the PNC Championship all year,” Tiger said in a statement to PNC.

However, all children, even Charlie, eventually forge their own paths. He has played with his father and for his high school team, but he has never tried out for a solo slot in a PGA Tour tournament. That all changed in February 2024, when he teed off in Florida for a pre-qualifying tournament. While sports fans waited to see what Tiger Woods’ protégé would accomplish, some were even more excited to get as near to golf royalty as possible.

toward the Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, toward the end of February 2024, Charlie Woods was swinging for a PGA Tour slot. This round was a pre-qualifier; the young golfer needed to finish in the top five, then in the top four in the next qualifier round, to compete at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.Woods failed to progress due to very high scores above par.

What he did, however, was attract a lot of attention and some really devoted supporters. While Woods concentrated on his shots, bystanders noticed that Tiger Woods’ kid was playing just a few feet away. By the time he reached the second half of his 18-hole round, he had a group of over 50 people following him around. Without ropes to separate the fairway from the pedestrian path, fans crowded the green, getting closer and closer to Woods as he golfed. One approached him for an autograph, several chased his ball through the brush, and one hopeful woman pulled her granddaughter out of school in the hopes of igniting a romance.

According to The Palm Beach Post, Wood told his caddie after his game, “That was some round, huh?” — while it’s unclear if he was referring to his non-winning score or the scores of those invading his golf game.

The caddie that accompanied Charlie Woods over the Florida golf course was a buddy, but the guy washing the mud off his golf clubs had previously been more closely associated. Tiger Woods, Charlie’s father, carried his son’s bags for 54 holes in a national junior golf competition. During another event, Tiger’s beautiful daughter Sam caddied for both her father and little brother.

Charlie was accompanied to his pre-qualifying game by his mother, Elin Nordegren, with whom Tiger had a great co-parenting relationship.Nordegren routinely cheers from the sidelines, but when it comes to the game itself, dad takes the lead. “Obviously, I want him to perform the best he can. “I want him to learn from everything,” the pro golfer told “Another Golf Podcast.”He also revealed that he is quite protective of his son, as well as the excessive fans and detractors. “When I grew up, there were no camera phones or videos. “I try to keep people away.”

Tiger isn’t expecting his son Charlie to ever get his own green blazer while he continues to improve his golf game. “I’m proud of whatever direction he chooses — whether he sticks with the game or not,” the five-time Masters champion told the PGA Tour. “It’s fine if he pursues something else. “He is his own person.”
