Eventually, the management of dirt track racing has been revealed. The burial of Scott Bloomquist has been rescheduled on August 20.
It does not appear that the man who died in Friday’s J3 Cub disaster in Tennessee held a pilot’s certificate. The fact that the deceased was 60-year-old Scott Bloomquist, a well-known dirt track racer regarded by many as the greatest in the business, has drawn a lot of attention to the accident. In a 2023 interview, Bloomquist said that he took flying lessons from his father, learnt to fly on his own at the age of 16, and failed his initial effort to obtain a certificate. After that, he didn’t pursue it and kept flying. Additionally, he gave a car racing publication a video tour of the family hangar located on their Mooresburg, Tennessee, property.
