Jimmy Phelps made the wrong choice by ending his contract with dirt, so forfeiting his opportunity to defend home turf in a 358 Modified. The driver from Baldwinsville, NY won the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series for the seventh time in his career, pulling ahead of Larry Wight with 16 laps remaining. According to Phelps, “This feels great.” “Victory Hill is a very difficult place to get up on.” The men are really appreciated. How amazing is that race car!

It was a good tune. We could run across the middle when it was cleared off. When traffic grew hazardous, it became apparent that more automobiles needed to shift around in order to clean up the middle. It was initially bottom dominated. Our approach to the corners had to be broader.

By ending his contract with dirt before he had a chance to defend his home turf in a 358 Modified on Sunday night at Weedsport Speedway, Jimmy Phelps made the worst move. With 16 laps remaining, the driver from Baldwinsville, New York, edged out Larry Wight to win his sixth DIRTcar 358 Modified Series race. Phelps exclaimed, “It feels amazing.” Rising to the top of Victory Hill is really difficult. I am really grateful to the men. What a fast car!
