The storybook romance between Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens seems to be coming to an end. Despite reports that the gymnast considered her husband to be a hero, those close to the marriage disclose that the divorce documents have been finalized but have  been filed.

The pair has been working on finalizing their preparations, but they are carefully planning when to make a public announcement and have prepared a joint statement. Although Biles and Owens have not commented on their separation, stories of their marital troubles have increased dramatically throughout the months that they have been living apart.

Even though the papers have been signed, according to a second source, the pair will remain amicable when the news is formally confirmed. At that point, they will jointly release a statement expressing their deep love for one another and their attempts, but failures, to make their relationship work.
