A small plane crashed near Franklin, Tennessee, killing fifty persons.

The incident happened at Leconte Center on Pigeon Forge Hollow Road approximately forty-five minutes ago, local time, according to a Facebook message from Williamson County Fire/Rescue.

In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) verified that three persons were on board the single-engine Beechcraft V35 that went down. Right now, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA are looking into the matter.

The aircraft “crashed after experiencing an in-flight break up over a half mile radius,” the NTSB confirmed to PEOPLE.

The Associated Press, ABC News, and CBS News all reported that the aircraft was its route from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Louisville, Kentucky.
