Antonio Pierce’s Message to the Raiders After Being Fired:
“I am the best coach the Raiders could ever have, but they blamed me. No matter how they try, the truth remains that I gave everything to this team. From the moment I took over, I poured my heart, soul, and energy into leading this franchise. I took on the challenge with unwavering dedication, knowing the task ahead would be tough. I pushed the players to be their best, believed in their potential, and worked tirelessly to create a winning culture.
Despite the obstacles we faced, I saw growth in this team. We showed resilience, determination, and a never-give-up attitude. But, unfortunately, the results weren’t always reflected in the win column. I understand the business side of football, and I know that winning is the ultimate measure of success. But I also know that leadership is about more than just wins and losses. It’s about instilling discipline, belief, and a sense of pride in the organization.
The blame falls on me, but it’s important to remember that building a championship team is a long process, and there are many factors that contribute to success or failure. I always took responsibility for my decisions and actions, and I continue to stand by what I did for the team.
I am proud of the work I did here, proud of the players who gave their all, and proud of the legacy I leave behind. No matter what, the truth is that I worked hard, I cared deeply, and I always did my best for the Raiders. I hope the team moves forward with the same passion and commitment that I gave every single day. I’ll always carry this experience with me, and I wish the Raiders the best in the future.”
