After a legendary stint with Honda, where he claimed multiple world championships, Márquez made the bold decision to join the Ducati team in 2024, hoping that the Italian manufacturer’s bike will provide the breakthrough he’s been searching for in recent seasons.
Márquez’s move to Ducati is seen as a fresh start after a series of injury setbacks that hindered his performance on the Honda machine. While Ducati has established itself as one of the most dominant teams in MotoGP, with riders like Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller proving the bike’s potential, Márquez believes it’s the finer details—tuning, adjustments, and understanding of the Ducati’s unique characteristics—that will make the difference in unlocking the bike’s full potential for him.
“I’ve always believed in the importance of the small things,” Márquez said. “The way you can make subtle adjustments to the bike, the setup, the feel—it all adds up over time. With Ducati, it’s no different. I need to learn its strengths and weaknesses and gradually improve that understanding.”
