Despite a bright spot or two, the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line continues to be near the bottom of the league, as Pro Football Focus (PFF) is yet to offer a favorable assessment of their overall performance. Once considered the backbone of the Cowboys’ offense, the unit has struggled this season to maintain consistency, resulting in breakdowns in both pass protection and run blocking.
Injuries have played a significant role in the offensive line’s decline. Key players, such as Tyron Smith and Zack Martin, have missed valuable time due to nagging injuries, limiting their ability to anchor the line. Even when healthy, the once-dominant veterans have been inconsistent, with age and wear beginning to take their toll. Younger players, including Tyler Smith and Terence Steele, have shown flashes of potential but are still developing the consistency needed to dominate at their positions.
One of the most glaring issues has been the line’s inability to protect quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott has been under constant pressure this season, leading to hurried throws, turnovers, and a lack of offensive rhythm.
