A devastating fire has destroyed the beloved LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, leaving the community in shock and mourning. The blaze, which broke out late last night, quickly engulfed the iconic venue, reducing it to ashes. The LeConte Center, a central hub for community events and gatherings, had hosted everything from conventions to car shows, making its loss deeply personal for the residents of Pigeon Forge.
Firefighters battled the flames for hours, but the structure was ultimately lost. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, initial reports suggest that strong winds may have played a role in the rapid spread of the fire. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, but the emotional toll on the community is immeasurable.
Local officials, including longtime manager Earlene M. Teaster, expressed their sorrow over the destruction. “It’s more than just a building—it’s a part of this town’s identity,” Teaster said, tearfully reflecting on the loss.
As the community begins the difficult process of healing, tributes and memorials are already being planned to honor the history of the LeConte Center.
