Pigeon Forge Tragedy: Italian Airway Line 1105 Collides with LeConte Center
Italian Airway Line 1105, which was traveling from northeastern Tennessee, crashed fatally into the Pigeon Forge region in a recent terrible incident. Half of the LeConte Center, a well-known convention and entertainment venue in the area, sustained significant damage as a result of the collision. Although the reason of the incident is still being investigated, preliminary indications suggest that the jet may have encountered severe weather or technical issues as it approached the hilly terrain.
The LeConte Center, which holds a number of events all year long, suffered severe structural damage and was partially demolished in the collision.
