BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs ranked among the best ten teams in the world, Congratulations!…

For the 2023–24 football season, Statista has produced its annual club valuation report, which lists the top 20 most well-known African football clubs in order of worth. Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, and Orlando Pirates—the three largest teams in South Africa—are ranked in the top ten most valuable teams in Africa. Masandawana, the team that has been winning local football, is ranked second. Pirates, meanwhile, are in fourth place after defeating Amakhosi, the SA team with the greatest fans, who are in eighth place.

The Sea Robbers are valued at €19,55 million (R401 million), topping the Glamour Boys by €2,1 million (R43 million), who are valued at €17,45 million (R335 million). The Brazilians are valued at €29,15 million (R599 million).

With a valuation of €30,5 million, Al Ahly, the most decorated Egyptian club, continues to be the top club on the continent. Zamalek and Pyramid, two other Egyptian clubs, are valued at €19, 23 million and €21, 73 million, respectively. Wydad Casablanca and Raja Club Athletic, two powerful teams in Morocco, are placed sixth and tenth, respectively. Conversely, Esperance Tunis has the seventh position.

Masandawana has been playing in the Caf Champions League final for almost six years, but Amakhosi is the most recent South African team to do so. Pitso Mosimane’s AL Ahly defeated the Chiefs 3-0 in the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco.

Three of the ten clubs listed above are playing this coming weekend as they advance to the Caf Champions League semifinals. In Pretoria, Sundowns will take on Esperance, and in Egypt, AL Ahly will host TP Mazembe. The domestic league games for the Chiefs and Pirates will take place on the same weekend.
