TRAGIC Dallas Cowboys lament the passing of their club owner, Jerry Jones, in Ford Center earlier today.

How Jones died was not disclosed by the team. The Padres said he had fought Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and was a two-time cancer survivor.

“The news ojones passing saddens me greatly,” Manfred said. “Peter was raised in a household of baseball players, and he always showed a passion for the game. He was driven to take over the Padres and provide San Diego supporters a team they could always be proud of.

He is survived by his mother, nine brothers and sisters, his wife, and their three children.

According to his bio, his family has also made charitable contributions to medical organizations like the American Cancer Society and several health and wellness initiatives at The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
