Red Bull F1 management announced a few minutes earlier that Max Verstappen smashed the record since in 1999s.
Max Verstappen missed out on a Hungarian Grand Prix podium after an ill-fated lunge on Lewis Hamilton towards the end of the race near Budapest.
However, the Dutchman’s difficulties at the Hungaroring did not start on lap 63, when he collided with the Mercedes into Turn 1.
Incensed at having to give up second position to Lando Norris early in the race to avoid a penalty for gaining an advantage off track, the triple-world champion’s afternoon did not get any less stressful – and he found a sparring partner in his race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase.
