Shahkeem and six additional individuals aim to end their multimillion-dollar broadcast agreement with Cricket Australia.
In order to end their lucrative broadcasting rights agreement with Cricket Australia for Big Bash League and Test cricket, Channel Seven is requesting a court declaration.
In response to the move by its broadcast partner on Thursday, Cricket Australia (CA) expressed shock and vowed to tenaciously defend its stance.
Seven West Media Ltd. has filed legal documents in Australia’s federal court regarding “multiple quality and standard breaches by CA” of the $450 million deal that is now in place.
In a statement, Seven West Media stated that it will pursue damages from previous breaches as well as a court ruling that it is entitled to terminate the media rights agreement (MRA) due to serious contract violations by CA that were not addressed.
