Aleix Espargaro Announces Retirement from MotoGP

Manufacturer Aleix Espargaro, an Aprilia rider, declared his retirement.

Aleix Espargaro, the Spanish MotoGP race winner, has declared that he will step away from competitive racing at the conclusion of the 2024 season. At the age of 34, Espargaro is the oldest driver on the grid. He made the announcement during a tearful press conference before his home race in Barcelona, expressing gratitude and relief at the same time as he gets ready to wrap off his remarkable career in Valencia later this year.

 

Throughout the course of his 15-year career, which started in the MotoGP 800cc era, Espargaro has shown tenacity and made a substantial impact on the sport. 2009 saw him make his debut in the top class for Pramac Ducati, filling in for Mika Kallio. Even though his debut season was impressive, Espargaro was back in the Moto2 class for 2011.
