“Tragic Accident: Beloved Hot Rod Enthusiast Loses Life in Devastating Freeway Crash”

Santee, California — Investigators worked today to figure out what caused a solitary weekend car accident that killed a 48-year-old man driving an antique convertible near Willowbrook Country Club.

The driver lost control of his 1932 Ford Roadster on a connector from Riverford Road to southbound state Route 67 in the Santee region at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The car, which did not have seat belts, sped off the ramp, down a gravel embankment, and overturned, ejecting the driver. The El Cajon resident died on the spot after colliding with a wooden post. His name was concealed pending notification to his family.

According to CHP Public Affairs Officer Kevin Pearlstein, intoxication was not a factor in the collision.
