Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was recently announced as a 2024 WNBA All-Star. Following the announcement, Reese shared an emotional moment with Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon. Reese spoke on the impact Weatherspoon has had on her WNBA career, sharing high praise for the first-year coach.
She has always been everything to me. In my career, I’ve had some incredible coaches, but this one is truly unique. She is aware of my non-court persona. She is aware of my courtside demeanor. She has faith in me,” Reese stated on X via Yahoo Sports.
Reese was moved to tears when talking about Weatherspoon, and the post on X received a ton of sweet comments. Yahoo Sports alone accounted for almost 100,000 views of the video.
Reese is competing against Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark for the league’s Rookie of the Year title. The LSU Tigers player is the only rookie in the league with an average double-double, scoring 13.2 points and a league-high 11.8 rebounds.
