The largest automobile exhibits in the region, the spring and fall Rod Runs have long been a mainstay of Pigeon Forge’s calendar.Because business parking lots along the Parkway are in the state right of way, enthusiasts of classic cars have long made it a custom to park their restored cars there.
While many enthusiasts attend with the purpose of showing off, some of the cars also have placards indicating they are for sale.
As aficionados prepared for the Spring Rod Run, classic vehicles filled parking spaces along the Parkway on Wednesday. This was happening despite a state request that municipal officials consider blocking advertisements for cars for sale near the parkway.
Since many years ago, Pigeon Forge has hosted the largest automotive events in the region, known as the spring and fall Rod Runs.
Because those spaces are on the state right of way, enthusiasts of classic cars have long made it a custom to park their restored cars in company parking lots along the Parkway.
Some of the vehicles are there for display, but since many enthusiasts come with the intention of buying them, they frequently have signs indicating they’re for sale.
