BREAKING: “Jon Rahm Withdraws from LIV Golf Houston Event Due to Foot Injury, Tiger Woods’ Reaction Surprises Fans!”

The withdrawal casts question on Rahm’s availability for next week’s US Open.

Jon Rahm withdrew from the LIV Golf Houston event on Saturday, throwing question on his availability for next week’s US Open.

Rahm was hobbling and in pain during a swing during the tournament’s first round on Friday. Rahm later told LIV that he had a cut between two of his toes. Rahm continued to play, finishing the round at 3-under-par 69.

Rahm’s injury apparently became infected, prompting his withdrawal midway through Saturday’s second round. He finished six holes and was still three under par.

Louis Oosthuizen also pulled out of the LIV Golf Houston second round owing to a lower back issue.

Rahm, 29, won the 2023 Masters and the 2021 US Open, and he is presently ranked eighth in the Official World Golf Ranking. He finished 45th at this year’s Masters and missed the cut at the PGA Championship. The LIV Golf Houston event was his first since missing the cut, and it served as an excellent preparation for next week’s U.S. Open. He remains one of the top ten betting favorites for the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst, North Carolina, the year’s third major. Rahm is one of twelve LIV Golf players who will compete in the event.

He has not won a LIV Golf tournament since joining the league in December, although he has finished in the top ten in all seven events he has played. Two of those finishes were for third place.

Rahm is currently second in the LIV Golf individual point standings. He leads his own team, Legion XIII, on the tour.
