Despite Chelsea’s interest in acquiring him, Jordan Pickford has made it apparent that he intends to stay at Everton.
After one of his more stellar seasons in goal, the Toffees goalkeeper has been linked to a transfer to one of their Premier League opponents. Despite Everton losing points, Pickford helped them avoid a relegation struggle.
With Pickford recording 13 clean sheets, second only to David Raya of Arsenal, the Merseysiders finished in 15th place. While Chelsea searches for a goalie, he has been on their radar. However, he recently expressed his delight for a new season with the team in a social media post.
It was previously stated that, with the prospect of administration looming, they might have to consider letting Pickford leave if Everton’s proposed takeover falls through. Pickford is still one of the team’s most marketable players.
Although 777’s current owner, Farhad Moshiri, is optimistic the transaction will close, there are still questions over whether the team will be able to pass the Premier League’s owners and directors test.
