SO SAD: I’m leaving new oleans Zion Williamson power forward Announce Her Decision

Pelicans VP praises Zion Williamson, calls injury 'disheartening' - ESPN

The New Orleans Pelicans will soon undergo changes, but Zion Williamson won’t likely be one of them.

Williamson’s “mental and physical state” has improved this season, and according to William Guillory of The Athletic, Pelicans brass was impressed. Williamson apparently stopped “operating away from the group” and became more vocal as a leader, integrating himself with colleagues.

During his news conference to finish the season, Pelicans vice president of basketball operations David Griffin hinted at a significant change that will occur this offseason.

Our takeaway has always been, ‘Let’s see this group healthy.’ In the past, we’ve always erred on the side of continuity. Griffin remarked, “I believe we’ve seen enough of it. “This summer won’t be spent being comfortable. It’s time to improve.”
