The Connecticut Sun defeated the Indiana Fever 88-84 in the closing minutes of a hard-fought game that drew a sold-out Gainbridge Fieldhouse on May 20. The Fever now have an 0-4 record after suffering their second setback to the Sun this season.
The Fever displayed a well-rounded offensive approach despite the loss, with five players scoring in double figures. With 17 points and five assists apiece, rookie phenom Caitlin Clark and All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell led the club. In just her second game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse during the regular season, Clark showed off her skill by grabbing three rebounds and two blocks, and she also dished out five assists in a crucial fourt
In terms of this game, Mitchell stated, “I think there is a light at the end of the tunnel.” “Where we are headed feels nice to me, but it is insufficient. We’re capable of more. Personally, I think so. We will not accept mediocrity and better is not sufficient.
Forward NaLyssa Smith of the Fever ignited the game with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Aliyah Boston, the current Rookie of the Year, finished with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and a game-high three blocks.
