BAD NEWS: celtics Stadium caught fire a few hours ago as a result of…

The Boston Celtics were renowned for being difficult to defeat at home when they were led by Larry Bird and Kevin McHale to championships in the 1980s. An additional challenge was the boisterous home crowd, and the old Boston Garden could get quite hot.

NBA buildings aren’t like that anymore, but the current Celtics are having a very successful home run.

Boston leads TD Garden 16-0. That facility lacks the aura of the old Garden with its corporate brand and contemporary vibe, but it does host a good basketball club that is making an effort to carve out a legacy of its own for the Celtics.

When questioned last month about hearing “MVP” chants, guard Derrick White responded, “We got the best fans in the league.” “Even though I’m not the best player, hearing that is always cool.”

Pardon Boston supporters for going a bit crazy. At least when playing at home, the Celtics appear deserving of numerous awards.
