In the 11th inning, Jordan Westburg earned his fourth hit of the game and sealed the deal as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Saturday. His single hugged the right field line.

With his 12th home run of the year, Gunnar Henderson gave the Orioles further momentum, but Anthony Santander’s home shot in the eighth inning tied the game at four.

“Gunnar’s performance speaks volumes,” said Brandon Hyde, manager of the Orioles. “At just 22 years old, he’s already displaying a lot of promise, and he will only get better.”

After encountering some difficulties in his previous outings, Craig Kimbrel recovered with a scoreless 11th inning to seal the victory for the Orioles. Leading the AL East, Baltimore has been dominant lately, with one of the best records in the league and having won seven of their past eight games.

Before his game-winning hit in the eleventh inning that drove home Colton Cowser, who was automatically placed on base, Westburg made contributions with an RBI double in the second inning and singles in the fourth and ninth innings.

As Westburg put it, “We really wanted to pull through for our bullpen.” They played a few strong innings. We would ultimately bring one home if we had more opportunities to score.

Ketel Marte produced a 12-game hitting streak to maintain his stellar play.
