I am sharing this news with you now with heavy heart. I have made the tough decision to end my career as a player for the Wigan Warriors after giving it careful thought and speaking with medical experts.
I have been going through a lot of medical examinations over the last few weeks because of ongoing injuries that have affected my capacity to play professional rugby league. These assessments’ findings indicate that playing would not only be harmful to my long-term health but also to my health.
Accepting that I can no longer contribute to the game in the way that I would like to as an athlete is heartbreaking.
I like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your constant encouragement, support, and well wishes during the course of my work. Being able to represent this amazing team and wear the Wigan Warriors shirt has been an honor and a privilege.
Even though my playing career may be nearing to an end, I’m determined to be involved with the Wigan Warriors in any way I can. As we continue to work toward success both on and off the field, I am excited to support my teammates, the coaching staff, and each and every one of you, the fans.
