The Dallas Cowboys are among the NFL’s most talked-about teams each season, and their recent success in the regular season has many people speculating that they could be a Super Bowl contender in the coming years. The pressure has increased for 2024, but the Cowboys have not yet made the transition from a strong regular-season squad to a legitimate title contender.
The Cowboys will start the season with a quarterback (Dak Prescott) and head coach (Mike McCarthy) who are both in the final year of their contracts. However, owners Jerry Jones’ hesitation to make major trade or free agency additions, aside from signing running back Ezekiel Elliott to a one-year contract, has left fans puzzled.
Nevertheless, Jones and the Cowboys’ leadership team have complete faith in a strong group that captured the NFC East the previous year in spite of numerous injuries to important players like cornerback Trevon Diggs. In the difficult NFC, will Prescott, Elliott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons make a breakthrough this year? Or does a squad that hasn’t won the Super Bowl since 1995 have more disappointments in store?
