UConn Huskies Forward Amari DeBerry in Tears As Doctors Report Reveals She Will no longer Participate in any Sport due to…

Diana Taurasi forewarned Caitlin Clark and the other rookie class members of the 2024 WNBA that “reality is coming.” During Tuesday night’s preseason game between the Phoenix Mercury and the Seattle Storm, she made sure to live up to her declaration.

Throughout the entire forty minutes, the younger Huskies’ defensive standout received the award from the two-time UConn Naismith Award winner!

During the NCAA Tournament, Taurasi—the first overall pick in 2004—sent a strong message to the top pick this year. It wasn’t going to be as simple to be as dominant in the W, she warned Clark, so she had best get ready for the pros. Her world was about to change. The 41-year-old was dead serious when she expressed a few years ago that she wanted to “kill rookies.”

So was her Tuesday performance.

Taurasi received hers even though the Storm defeated the Mercury by a margin of more than 25 points. A play in which the 6-foot-0 combo guard surged into the lane and put a body on Mühl stood out in particular.

For the and-one, the former completed through contact. Taurasi peered down to make sure she understood what had just happened as the latter lay on the ground.

Phoenix’s post on X even alluded to the simmering feud between its top player and the rookie class.
