The Golden State Warriors’ season is finally finished after losing to the Sacramento Kings, 118-94, in the 2024 NBA Play-In Tournament. Klay Thompson couldn’t have picked a worse time to play arguably the worst game of his NBA career.
Thompson missed all ten of his field-goal tries, including six from beyond the arc, in the Warriors’ 118-94 loss in the Play-In Tournament.
There has been a lot of question this season regarding whether Thompson will continue in Golden State after this season. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr discussed Thompson’s future with the team and emphasized what Thompson represents to the team from a basketball standpoint.
Thompson had a terrible night, as he couldn’t get anything going. Even his open looks from the field weren’t going away.
Warriors fans likely sensed it right away. Klay Thompson was in for a rough night after missing all five of his first-half shots.
He couldn’t turn it around after halftime, missing all ten of his field goal tries as the Kings blasted the game open in the second half. And Thompson was a major contributor to Golden State’s second-half breakdown.
According to Kendra Andrews of ESPN, this is only the second time under Steve Kerr that the four-time NBA champion has gone scoreless.
