The New York Knicks Great Legend is Dead So Much Fans Shed Lights
The New York Knicks must be pleased with their 2-0 lead in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs versus the Philadelphia 76ers. They might easily be down 2-0 with standout player Jalen Brunson struggling on the offensive end of the field.
New York’s resilience and unwavering determination have been on full show. In both games, they trailed by double digits, and in Game 2, they rallied from a five-point hole with 47.3 seconds remaining to win.
Normally, Brunson would lead the squad in such instances. He has consistently come up when the club needed him the most, but he has been in a slump over the last two games versus Philadelphia.
Despite this, the Knicks lead the series 2-0 going into Games 3 and 4 in Philadelphia. They may thank supporting cast members Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and Miles McBride, who have all taken up the offensive slack.
So, how horrible has Brunson been? His start to the 2024 NBA playoffs has been historically terrible. According to StatMamba on X, Brunson’s 29.1 percent shooting in the first two games is the second-worst postseason start ever. Joe Fulks was the only player who performed worse, shooting 17.6 percent in 1948.
No one anticipated Brunson to be on that list. He has been effective throughout his NBA career and is a reliable source of production for the Knicks. However, the 76ers have effectively limited him, forcing his teammates to step up.
To thus time, they have answered the call and given the Knicks a 2-0 lead. It is undoubtedly encouraging to see the other players step up, but if New York wants to make a deep run in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Brunson must get on track.
